TMSS has been awarded the Prime Minister’s National Award for Tree Plantation

TMSS has been awarded the Prime Minister’s National Award 2019-2020 at the institutional level for tree planting.

On July 24th, the award was handed over to the Founder Executive Director of TMSS, Prof. Dr. Hosne-Ara Begum, by the chief guest, Md. Shahab Uddin MP, Minister of the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change in a grand ceremony at the auditorium of the Directorate of Forests in Agargaon, Dhaka.

In the course of the Covid-19 pandemic, TMSS distributed 10 million medicines, fruits, and forest seedlings across the country. These plants are planted as block plantations in homestead gardens, and roadside gardens. In addition, more than five hundred nurseries were created by investing money and training among entrepreneurial families. On average, an employment opportunity for five families has been created in each nursery. Seedlings are marketed like daily necessities in the village market. The stunning Bengal is becoming greener as a result.
