In a significant move towards advancing rural development in Bangladesh, Prof. Dr. Hosne-Ara Begum, the Executive Director of TMSS and founding member of Bangladesh NGO Foundation (BNF), recently paid a courtesy visit to the office of Mr. Saidur Rahman, Director General of NGO Affairs Bureau, Prime Minister’s Office.
During the meeting, Dr. Begum emphasized the pivotal role of small NGOs operating at the grassroots level in the socio-economic development of the country. She highlighted that channeling foreign donations through these smaller organizations directly benefits the rural and marginalized communities, leading to a more substantial reduction in extreme poverty.
The discussion underscored the importance of ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently to maximize their impact on the lives of the underprivileged. Dr. Begum reiterated TMSS’s commitment to leveraging its expertise and network to facilitate sustainable development initiatives across Bangladesh.
Following the substantive conversation, Dr. Begum took the opportunity to present a commemorative book celebrating the Mujib Birth Centenary, authored by TMSS, to Mr. Saidur Rahman.
