TMMH Hosts Social Awareness Workshop on Infertility

Addressing Infertility Awareness through Collaborative Workshops

Infertility is a pressing issue that impacts countless families, yet it remains under-discussed in many communities. To address this critical subject, TMSS Masuda Maternity Hospital, in collaboration with MediHelp Fertility Center, hosted a workshop on infertility awareness and solutions. The event took place on 25th December 2024 at the TMSS Head Office, Dhaka, bringing together experts, medical professionals, and community leaders to discuss the challenges and advancements in fertility care.

Objective of the Workshop

The primary goal of the workshop was to raise social awareness about infertility and discuss available medical solutions. It served as a platform for knowledge sharing among professionals and the broader community.

Distinguished Guests

The workshop featured notable speakers and guests:

  • Chief Guest: Dr. Shabana Khatun, Medical Advisor, Yellow Fertility & IVF Centre, India, who shared her expertise on fertility-related issues and advanced treatment options.
  • Special Guests:
    • Surajit Kumar, Business Head, Yellow Fertility & IVF Center, India, provided insights into the latest trends in IVF and fertility care.
    • A. H. M. Moyeen Uddin, Chairman, TM Group, highlighted the importance of prioritizing fertility health in Bangladesh.
    • Dr. Fatema Khatun (Rima), Director, TMSS Masuda Maternity Hospital, discussed the hospital’s contributions to maternal and reproductive health.

Key Presentation

Dr. Hasna Hossain Athee, a fertility specialist and consultant at TMSS Masuda Maternity Hospital, delivered an in-depth presentation on fertility challenges and modern treatment approaches. Her presentation provided valuable information to both on-site and online participants.

The workshop witnessed active participation from various stakeholders:

  • On-site attendees: Approximately 50 healthcare professionals, including consultants, doctors, medical assistants, and health workers, joined the session.
  • Online attendees: Around 100 participants connected virtually, ensuring wider reach and engagement.

The event also welcomed the participation of local representatives, MediHelp leadership, and senior TMSS officials, making it a collaborative and impactful initiative.

The workshop addressed several crucial topics, including:

  • The impact of infertility on families and society.
  • Advanced treatments and solutions available for infertility, such as IVF and other assisted reproductive technologies.
  • Collaborative efforts between TMSS and international fertility centers to provide world-class care.

Following the workshop, the distinguished guests toured the TMSS Masuda Maternity Hospital to observe its facilities and services. They commended the hospital’s commitment to providing high-quality fertility and maternity care.

The workshop underscored the significance of addressing infertility and creating awareness about available solutions. It also highlighted TMSS’s dedication to enhancing healthcare services in Bangladesh. Moving forward, TMSS plans to host similar events and collaborate with international partners to continue addressing critical healthcare issues, including infertility.
