A momentous occasion unfolded at the Renaissance Hotel in Dhaka as the National Kick Off Event of the “B-PEMS AugroJatra” program commenced with grandeur. This transformative initiative, to be executed by four NGOs, including TMSS, under the stewardship of Winrock International and generously funded by the US Government, promises to usher in a new era for the fishermen of South Bengal.
The event saw the convergence of influential figures from various echelons of society, alongside dedicated NGO professionals, marking the collective commitment to the cause. Notably, Saber Hossain Chowdhury, the Honorable Minister of the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, graced the occasion virtually, delivering a keynote address that underscored the significance of the program.


Amidst an atmosphere charged with anticipation, the auspicious opening of the “B-PEMS AugroJatra” program was announced, heralding a new chapter in the socio-economic landscape of South Bengal. Through the Agrajatra project, stakeholders envision an unprecedented improvement in the livelihoods and well-being of the region’s fishermen, laying the foundation for sustainable development and inclusive growth.
