Health and Family Welfare Minister formally inaugurated modernized TMSS Cancer Hospital in Bogura
The Minister of Health and Family Welfare of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Mr. Zahid Malek, MP inaugurated the TMSS Cancer Hospital in Bogura last Wednesday.
The honorable minister noted in his remarks as the chief guest that TMSS is a significant and well-known national institution. They have rendered a lot of services for the benefit of humanity. They have medical colleges and hospitals. Additionally, they built a 250-bed cancer hospital, which opened its doors today. This cutting-edge cancer hospital is fully equipped with high quality expensive machines and adequate doctors and nurses ready to provide cancer treatment.
The health minister told the reporters, you are aware that cancer, kidney and heart diseases have increased more than ever before. Additionally, more people are now suffering from diabetes. About 67 percent of people in the country die from these diseases. The mortality rate of many disorders can be decreased by early detection and appropriate treatment. Earlier, the Health and Family Welfare Minister unveiled the name plaque of the Cancer Center at the TMSS Hospital campus. Children from the TMSS Autism School and Rehabilitation Center gave an excellent performance to welcome the minister as he arrived.
In a brief speech delivered here, he expressed gratitude to the TMSS authorities for establishing the cancer hospital and pledged that the government will offer all necessary assistance. He added that there aren’t enough cancer-specific hospitals in the nation. He claimed that under the guidance of the Honorable Prime Minister, work is being done to establish 8 cancer centers in 8 regions of the nation. To ensure that no one in Bangladesh dies without receiving medical attention, both the government and the private sector are working together.
Minister was greeted and led through the event by TMSS Founder & Executive Director Prof. Dr. Hosne-Ara Begum and senior members of the organization. Among others who attended the events includes Md. Saiful Islam, Deputy Commissioner, Bogura, Sudip Kumar Chakraborty BPM, Superintendent of Police, Dr. Md. Matiur Rahman, Deputy Executive Director of TMSS, Brig. General (retired) Dr. Md. Jamilur Rahman, Director of TMSS Medical College and Rafatullah Community Hospital, Professor Dr. Maudud Hossain Alamgir Pavel, Executive Consultant, TMSS Health Sector, heads of local government and non-government institutions and officials at different levels of government and TMSS.
Additionally, the Health and Family Welfare Minister Mr. Zahid Malek addressed a session organized by TMSS Medical College as the keynote guest. Professor Dr. ABM Khurshid Alam, director general of the Ministry of Health, and Professor Dr. Md. Tito Mia, director general of the Health Education, addressed as special guests. The ceremony was overseen by Professor Dr. Zakir Hossain, current Principal of TMSS Medical College and former Principal of Government Medical College. Teachers and students of TMSS Medical College and Nursing College also attended the session.
