TMSS Stands Strong with Flood-Affected Communities in Eastern Bangladesh

Since August 23, 2024, TMSS has been actively distributing relief items to communities affected by devastating floods. These relief efforts have been made possible through the generous contributions of kind-hearted individuals, development partners, and the solidarity of people from across the country. TMSS staff also played a crucial role, generously donating a day’s salary to support these humanitarian efforts.

A significant relief distribution ceremony was held at the TMSS Mohipal branch in Feni, where key community leaders and TMSS representatives came together to address the ongoing crisis. Notable attendees included Md. Moinul Islam Shamim, a BNP leader and lifetime member of TMSS; advisor Badal Khandkar; and TMSS Executive Director Prof. Dr. Hosne Ara Begum. All expressed their heartfelt support for the flood victims and called upon people from all walks of life to unite in extending assistance to the affected regions during this challenging time.

Additionally, Md. Abdur Razzak, the regional TMSS domain head, along with other regional personnel, have been working tirelessly to aid the communities in need. Their efforts have brought attention to the urgent need for medical camps and the rehabilitation of flood victims, as the demand for these essential services is expected to increase significantly in the coming days.

Prof. Dr. Hosne Ara Begum personally visited various shelters in the flood-affected areas of Laxmipur and Noakhali, engaging with those impacted by the disaster and distributing vital food items. Accompanying her was TMSS Director Dr. Fatema Khatun Rima, further reinforcing the organization’s commitment to serving the vulnerable.

At present, around 1,000 TMSS workers and officers are actively involved in providing much-needed relief and support to the flood-affected communities. TMSS remains steadfast in its dedication to continuing these efforts, ensuring that the affected families receive the necessary assistance to rebuild their lives and secure a better future.
