Advancing Cardiac Treatment Beyond Dhaka
Bangladesh has made impressive strides in the healthcare sector, offering world-class medical services. However, around 90% of cardiac treatment facilities remain concentrated in Dhaka. Recognizing the urgent need for quality cardiac care in the northern region, TMSS took the initiative to establish the TMSS Heart Center in Bogura.
State-of-the-Art Cath Lab – A Game Changer
As part of TMSS Grand Health Sector’s ongoing mission to enhance healthcare accessibility, TMSS Heart Center introduced a cutting-edge Cath Lab on May 21, 2024. Since its launch, the center has successfully performed over 500 cardiac procedures, including:
- Coronary Angiography (CAG)
- Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) with Stenting
- Temporary Pacemaker (TPM) implantation
- Permanent Pacemaker (PPM) implantation
A New Era: Launching Cardiac Surgery Services
Building on its success, TMSS Heart Center has now expanded to provide advanced cardiac surgery services. Under the visionary leadership of Prof. Dr. Hosne-Ara Begum, Founder and Executive Director of TMSS, and the strategic guidance of Rotarian Dr. Md. Matiur Rahman, Deputy Executive Director of TMSS, this initiative marks a significant milestone in regional healthcare.
Historic Achievement: Successful Cardiac Bypass Surgeries
On March 15, 2025, TMSS Heart Center reached a historic milestone by successfully performing two Cardiac Bypass Surgeries. This remarkable feat was led by Chief Cardiac Surgeon, Dr. Dewan Iftekhar Raja Chowdhury, alongside his expert surgical team. Their efforts were further strengthened by:

- Associate Professor Dr. Md. Mahfuzul Islam, APD
