Ensuring Community Wellbeing through TMSS Primary Health Education & Service Program (PHE & SP)

In its ongoing commitment to ensuring inclusive development in Bangladesh, TMSS has consistently prioritized healthcare, education, and financial inclusion through its flagship HEM (Health, Education, and Microfinance) model. Under this integrated model, TMSS has been working tirelessly to deliver essential services to underserved communities across the country. One of the most impactful components of this model is the TMSS Primary Health Education & Service Program (PHE & SP)β€”an initiative designed to provide affordable, accessible, and community-based primary healthcare services to beneficiary families, their neighbors, and other marginalized populations.

The Primary Health Education & Service Program (PHE & SP) is a specialized department within TMSS that currently operates through 150+ branch offices across different operational areas under the HEM sector. The program ensures daily delivery of primary healthcare services and health awareness education to rural and semi-urban populations.

The key goal of the program is to make healthcare accessible for individuals who are unable to regularly visit health centers. By setting up community-based health camps, TMSS ensures that basic health services reach people’s doorsteps at minimal cost β€” improving early diagnosis, prevention, and overall well-being.

  • To ensure regular and accessible primary healthcare in hard-to-reach communities
  • To raise health awareness among marginalized groups through structured educational initiatives
  • To operate mobile and special health camps targeting individuals who cannot visit health centers directly
  • To provide doorstep healthcare services at minimal cost

The core mission of PHE & SP is to bridge the gap between rural communities and primary health services. With an emphasis on health equity and education, TMSS ensures that no one is left behind in receiving care. These efforts are especially life-changing for pregnant women, elderly individuals, and children, who often face mobility or financial constraints.

TMSS regularly organizes special health camps in remote villages and urban slums. These camps are designed to reach individuals who are unable to attend health centers due to financial or geographical barriers. Through these camps, TMSS ensures equitable access to vital health services at nominal or no cost.

By deploying these services, TMSS is not only addressing the healthcare needs of underserved groups but also significantly reducing the burden on public health institutions. The program is contributing to:

  • Early diagnosis and prevention of common diseases
  • Reduced maternal and child mortality
  • Improved health-seeking behavior in rural populations
  • Empowerment of community health workers and assistants
