TMSS Environment Department

Considering the adverse world with all environmental issues, in 2015 TMSS established the Department of Environment to accelerate the
environmental conservation activities by engaging with people in all districts of Bangladesh. It has been observed that environmental
degradation caused by the developmental activities in Bangladesh are contributing to natural disaster, loss of biodiversity, shrinkage of
natural resources including in the deterioration of public health. TMSS Environment Department is responsible for mitigation and the
adaptation and eco-friendly solutions in all areas of social business of TMSS including in its Paper mills, Cold Storage, Food and beverage
company, LNG gas supply company, Production of food items company, CNG Station, Hospital, Hotel, Restaurant and Tiles factory.

Objective

To encourage people's participation in environmental activities and promote the use of environmentally friendly technologies through coordination with the government's agencies.

Activities

Arranging seminar, uthan (yard) meeting, spot meeting, campaign and working together with Government senior officials, local community, students for creating awareness about environment, setting up artificial nest of birds, providing suggestions and support to take steps against pollution, broadcasting documentaries, advertisements for creating awareness about environment, tree plantation etc.

Achievements

During FY 2019-2020, we conducted 145 meeting with Government senior officials, local community, students for creating awareness about environment; produced and broadcasted 52 documentaries on environment; visited 75 offices for collaborations.
