TMSS implemented VGD Programme activities in 9 Union of Godagari Upazila under Rajshahi District by the assistance of DWA-GoB from April 2010 to December 2011 with a view to improve the socio-economic conditions of the targeted 2851 ultra poor VGD member by building up their income earning capacity and social empowerment through providing occupation/skill development training on potential profit making income generating activities, awareness raising on Human Rights, Health & Hygiene care, Environment, Disaster preparedness etc, savings development & life skills issues and making provision of credit and other services during and beyond the Food Assistance period. At the onset of this project 12 project staff of TMSS under gone IGA and project implement related TOT organized by the project so that the expected project outcomes are achieved. Consequently, the TMSS project staff arranged and imparted IGA skill development and Awareness raising trainings to 2851 selected VGD women, developed 2851 VGD women’s Savings amounting TK. 2097144/- facilitated 1290 VGD women in receiving Credit amount of TK. 64,50,000/- from different MFIs, ensured proper distribution of 770.760 MT food (wheat) among 2851 VGD women. Apart from these the TMSS project staff periodically monitored 270 training session in order to ensure qualitative transfer of technology and knowledge among target beneficiaries and provided necessary follow up services to the project beneficiaries. Besides these the TMSS project staff kept continued the rapport build up, communication & coordination with project stakeholders, preparation and submission of reports and document as per project guideline. Through this project food security of the targeted 2141 VGD women have been ensured. This programme is observing as effective tool for livelihood improvement of the ultra poor women and ensuring their food security.
