TMSS observed the 46th Martyrdom Anniversary and ‘National Mourning Day’ of Bangabandhu
On Sunday (August 15), 2021, TMSS celebrated the 46th martyrdom anniversary and ‘National Mourning Day’ of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the great architect of independence and the greatest Bengali of all time, with due dignity and solemn atmosphere. A discussion session followed by prayer mahfil was held on the moyna stage of TMSS Momo Inn Amusement Park at Naodapara, Bogura.
Vice Chancellor (Acting) of Pundra University Prof. Dr. A.N.M Rezaul Karim addressed the function as the chief guest. In his speech, he stated that Bangabandhu played a pivotal role in every aspect of the Language Movement of 1952, United Front election of 1954, Mass Uprising of 1969 and under his powerful leadership the Bengali nation got an independent territory in 1971. If Bangabandhu was not born, we would not have got our beloved motherland Bangladesh. So everyone must work together to build the golden Bengal of Bangabandhu’s dream.
Dewan Md. Kamruzzaman Saju, Executive Director of NDC, a private development agency in Joypurhat, Prof. Dr. Hosne-Ara Begum, the Founder Executive Director of TMSS, Dr. Matiur Rahman, Deputy Executive Director-2, Md. Sohrab Ali Khan, Deputy Executive Director-3, Shamsul Alam, Consultant, Md. Asadur Rahman, Consultant Agriculturist, Md. Zakir Hossain, Director Chief (Program Sector), Shahjadi Begum, Director, Md. Abdus Salam, Director, Md. Ali Mithu, Director, Md. Mahbubur Rahman, Director, Md. Sajjadul Bari Sumon, Domain Head also delivered their valuable speeches being present on the occasion.
The event was presided over by TMSS Life Member and Advisor Mohammad Anwarul Islam Bachchu. The program was hosted by TMSS officials Md. Abdul Hannan and Farhana Shawkat. Note that on the occasion of Bangabandhu’s martyrdom anniversary, 800 species of various fruit and forest trees were distributed among attendees in the event organized by TMSS. On the initiative of the Department of Blood Transfusion at TMSS Medical College, the Blood Group Directory package was unveiled. Earlier, the Executive Director of TMSS begun the mourning day by planting 3 saplings in the Momo Inn Amusement Park. On the occasion of the 46th martyrdom anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, a nationwide tree planting program is underway at the initiative of TMSS.
In addition, various educational institutions run by TMSS carry out separate programs in different ways. On the occasion of Mourning Day, discussion meetings, wreath placing, prayer mahfil, keeping the national flag at half-mast, holding of black badge were organized by all the organizations of TMSS Health Sector including TMSS Medical College. TMSS Public School and College, TMSS Institute of Science and ICT conducts various programs throughout the day. Apart from placing wreaths at the portrait of the Father of the Nation at Pundra University, other programs were also held. All the institutions including TMSS Engineering College, TMSS Textile Engineering Institute, TMSS Technical Institute, TMSS Dakhil Madrasa and Yatimkhana celebrated the day by holding discussion meetings, placing wreaths, holding black badges, planting trees and other activities.
