Target Beneficiary: Pre-selected Ready Made Garment female workers.
Operational Area: Gazipur District.
Manpower: Presently 13 staffs are working under this project among them Business Manager 1, Medical Officer 2, Paramedics 2, Health Promoter 3, Clinical Assistant 2 and Other Staff 3.

Project Background:
In general the workers of the 3 RMG Factories hails from poor families, their remuneration/salary is not enough to maintain a healthy and better livelihoods interms of financial income earning and nutritional status. Consequently they fall sick very frequently and it hampers their regular income earnings, causes drainage of their hard earn money for below standard medical treatments, sometime put them at the verge of physical disability/death because lack of adequate money for good treatments, absent at Job place & termination from Job, etc. Moreover these stated facts seriously affect non-reaching of the production, supply & marketing of goods/materials as per plan & target and expected profit earnings by the employer RMG factories. Failure to timely meet up of the market demand creates bad image of the producer RMG Factories in the competitive business arena and as well as creates negative impact on the notion of buyers/clients/customers which results in less profit earnings or loss of investments. Cost sharing for Health Insurance scheme by RMG worker & RMG Factory owners in 2nd year may develop this situation. In order to overcome these negative situation/problems and to build up win-win relationship between the RMG factories and their workers TMSS intends to implement the proposed project (IB Model) in collaboration with SNV Netherlands Development Organization during the stated period of 16 month. “SRHR and other Health Services delivery to RMG workers through Health Insurance” was signed onCoronary Care Services6 August 25, 2015 between TMSS Rafatullah Community Hospital & SNV Netherlands Development Organization.

To improve health status of the RMG factory workers through providing services on SRHR and ensures worker participation in health insurance.



  • Find out affordable insurance scheme for RMG worker where workers will be interested to pay.
  • Create evidence of business benefit for factory which will motivate owner to invest for workers health initiative.
  • Ensure dedicated quality health provider and see the changes of workers absenteeism, migration, sick leave and productivity.
  • Major activities

  • Build up awareness among the RMG factory workers regarding insurance and its facility and ensure worker participation in health insurance.
  • Sensitize workshop/meeting with RMG owners & senior management and male workers.
  • Deliver satellite medical services through experience doctor.
  • Provide SRHR health worker support in the Factory.
  • Organize outreach campaign for consultation and referral to clinic.
  • Provide comprehensive health services through medical centre.
  • Provide services to the nearest community of worker residence.
