Project Background:

Rangpur Community Paramedic Institute (RCPI) has been established under TMSS Health Sector (THS) at Uttom, Hasnabazar, Rangpur, Bangladesh in 2010 for the well being of the literate & illiterate neglected people of rural remote areas for their medical facilities through the approval of National Institute of Population Research and Training (NIPORT) and State Medical Faculty of Bangladesh. There is also the approval of admittance for 60 students in every session. The name of the course is ‘Community Paramedics Course. The duration of this course is two years.

Project Goals/Objectives:


To produce trained community paramedics towards sustainable quality healthcare service delivery at grassroots


To build up skilled and qualified community paramedics.
To develop the health status of remote rural areas.
To teach the students about appropriate technique and knowledge.
To build up young professionals as medical technical persons.
To build up skilled and qualified paramedics so that they could get job opportunities within home and abroad.
To contribute at the national economy through eradicating of unemployment.
To create employment opportunities.

Number and Type of Target Population/Beneficiaries:

The candidates passing SSC and HSC from any group and getting any GPA.
Female candidates will get preference for admission (70%).
The candidates living in Nilphamari, Sunamganj and Paruahkali districts will get preference.
The candidates living in rural areas are preferable.
The candidates who will give written consents to provide healthcare service in their own locality/community.

    To deal academic activities according to the rules and regulations of concerned affiliating and approval authorities.

    students are encouraged to participate in extra-curricular activities such as:

  • Different types of indoor games.
  • Common Room Activities.
  • National days celebration.
  • Sports & Games (out door).
  • Cultural events like song, Dance, Debate, Drama, seminars, publications of Annual Magazine, etc.
    Study Tour.
  • Annual Sports.
  • Humanitarian services such as free blood donation and free medicine supply for poor patients, relief works during natural calamities such as cyclones, floods, epidemics etc
  • Project Achievements/Key Success

    The institute has been started in 2010 and from the begging this institute enrolled two batches of students according to approved seats. The percentage of student ennoblement is 100% where 120 has already enrolled here.
