People’s Awareness on Prevention of Human Trafficking through Community Based Cultural Intervention
TMSS is implementing People’s Awareness on Prevention of Human Trafficking through Community based Cultural Intervention-PAPCHTCCI project in Dhaka, Tangail and Joypurhat district with the financial and technical support from Bangladesh Institute of Theater Arts – BITA. Community based cultural event on trafficking and other human rights issues are disseminating through this events. Local level cultural team was formed to conduct the shows. TMSS is performing three form of cultural event in three districts as Pala gaan: Paruler pala in Joypurpurhat, Theater : Apar – Opar in Tangail and Baul song; Raanger Goshai in Dhaka.
The main target group of the project would be vulnerable women and children that are at risk of trafficking of the targeted districts. The direct target groups are 60,000 audiences that would be benefited from the project through information. Alongside, other stakeholders like government officials, local government actors, civil society members, CBOs will also be included in the project so that they can contribute to develop safety net in their locality. The local cultural groups will also be the targeted audiences in the project.
Gender dimension will be a serious consideration in the project. The project has been designed in such way where gender issues is included as cross cutting issues within its program approach. The program participants are 50:50 women and men.
